About Me

My name is Jocelyn Brewer, and I am a sophomore at Franklin High School.

I’ve played basketball for the past 10 years and have competed in AAU since 5th grade, dedicating countless hours to growing my skills and understanding of the game. My passion for basketball pushes me to constantly improve—not just for myself but also to set an example for younger girls who look up to me.

I take pride in being a leader on and off the court, and I’m always striving to raise my level of play while inspiring the next generation to do the same. I recently started officiating for the local recreation department, where I get to learn the game from multiple perspectives and coach the young girls and boys, which I truly love.

I played softball up until last year (2024), and I think that building a community around sports is very important for mental health and overall enjoyment. Softball taught me that life is full of failure, and it is what you do about it that shapes you.

I am a part of the Student Senate, NHS, Yearbook, and Women's Empowerment Club at Franklin, which I find to be a calming and fun experience during and after school hours.

My Dad (Mike Brewer) went to Menomonee Falls High School, where he played football and ran track. He graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a degree in Journalism. He is now an 8th-grade math teacher at Deer Creek Intermediate School. When he isn't carting us kids around, he officiates NCAA Division l softball and is a Crew Chief for WIAA High School football. He is formally a WIAA and NCAA Division III Women's Basketball official, he has worked 6 NCAA Softball Regionals, 4 WIAA State Championships, and a large number of NCAA Tournaments.

My Mom (Sandy Christoffel-Brewer) went to Roncalli High School where she played basketball, ran track and won a State Championship in the 100M High Hurdles, and was involved in competitive roller skating. She played basketball and graduated from Viterbo University with a degree in Community Medical Dietetics. She then went to Mount Mary University for her Master's of Business Administration. She works at Touchpoint as director of dining services. She recently started teaching in the nutrition program at MATC as well. She also was an official and worked two WIAA sectional final games but retired after 10 years.

I have one sister named Kirsten (13) and one brother named Logan (11). Kirsten loves everything girly, and it is fun to have her do my hair or go shopping together. She plays Softball, Volleyball, and Basketball for club and school teams. Logan loves basketball just as much as I do and whenever I want to get shots up, I know he will be more than happy to come to the gym with me as long as I also rebound for him.
